A Night at the Bellevue Berry & Pumkin Farm

Last night we meet up with Amy, Gregg and their two little boys at the Bellevue Berry and Pumpkin Farm. It was such a beautiful night out… no rain, no wind, just a cool night with the stars shinning bright. Upon entering the grounds you could see about 20 bomb/camp fires going through out a big open pasture. Here people sat around the camp fires and roasted marshmallows and they just hung out…

We walked around the camp fires for a bit then we went up to one of many barns. Here we got a taste of the Chuckwagon Menu with lot’s of yummy food. Nothing like having a good taste of Barbeque, hot apple cider and much more… All the food looked oh so yummy and was reasonably priced.

The Bellevue Berry Farm has definitely “spruced-up” their events… They have three “Spook-takular” attractions.. The Haunted Hay Rack Ride, Ranch of Terror and an Haunted Maze. We did the Haunted Hay Rack Ride… Which suited us perfectly.

We bought our tickets and then we each bought plastic glow in dark Dracula Fangs for the ride :=) … they lined us up in “Cow-Pins” to board… As we were waiting we each put in our Dracula Fangs and were having loads of fun… While awaiting for the ride, one boy (not ours) was getting a little nervous and tossed his cookies.. OH OH OH! My fangs came out instantly and I held my breath and looked the other way… Soon the hay ride arrived and we were off…

This hay ride lasted about 30 minutes. So many cool things to see. Lot’s of old barns, tree houses, caves, out-houses, tomb stones and much more. Some of the Tree Houses were decorated with Halloween lights and such… They took us through one forest after another… Each forest had a name and was suited as such. One forest was called "Forest of screams " and it was just that… Here they had people dressed up like zombies and they would walk around looking rather lost.. As that’s what zombies dooo.. :-) Some had chain saws and would start them up… Nothing to overly morbid or scary and was just good fun… They boys did wonderfully in it. Neither were scared and were laughing the whole time. Brandon of course had to yell at a couple of them… He told them they were ugly and they didn’t scare him.. hahaha :-) Too funny..

We then entered another forest… I don’t recall the name of this one… But in it… they had “Mafusa” the lion… Hanging up in a tree. So I pointed to it and said “look Brett Mafusa’s in the Tree” and of course... just as we got underneath it…. That darn thing dropped from the tree – "barely touching my face”...... Of course I screamed and we all laughed… :-) and Mafusa went back up in the Tree awaiting for the next group of kids...

After the Hay Rack Ride we went to “Kids-Town”… This place is where you can just be a kid and have loads of fun… Several big and small barns with lot’s of secret passage ways… We even got to climb up to a very tall Tree House. I climbed up the ropes and made it to the top of a big ol’ rail road timber…. Where I looked probably stupid, but who cares. So there I am crawling on my knees trying to get to the other side without falling. Haha After I made it to the other side, we all went down the very big slide…

We then had fun chasing the boys around and riding tire horses and going through the secret passage ways… I did have one small incident in one of the passage ways… This one was rather dark and I couldn’t see… I didn’t know about the step down (and who would) so I stumbled and my hands caught my-self on a wall… Bad News: There was either a nail or staple on that wall, in which had came out from the other side of that wall. Thank Goodness My Tetanus shot is up to date.. So no worries. I bent the nail back – so it wouldn’t stick out and hurt someone else. When I got home I cleaned it up and it looks much better this morning. No worries here MOM!!! :-)

After Kids-Town we went and sat by a camp-fire with hot apple cider… A beautiful night.. Of course when you go to these attractions there’s always teenagers running around… Some having fun and just being teenagers.. And then there’s those younger /older people who like to party a tad to much… And that’s when it was time to go. I think those people scared us a little more then the attractions alone…

We were minding our own business when I looked up and saw some punk-kid weebing and wobbling like he just got off a merrier go round. He was standing next to Brandon and kept asking him where the Haunted House was… As a concerned mother and like no other, I instantly looked at Gregg for help… Or maybe it was the other voice that made me turn my head… And when I looked at Gregg, behind me was yet another weeble wabble… So I looked backed at Brandon, I calmly told the “wabble boy” where it was… He kindly walked away…. But the other dudes were still hanging around… talking about how this attraction may not be suited for them as they were looking for a place to party… We kindly agreed… and off they went… Next thing I know Brandon’s yelling… I have to pee… I have to pee… Not wanting to head towards the Weeble Wabble Boys… I told him to wait and hold it… He yells back, but there are Trees, there’s trees MOM! Please! :-) This was our in to say “Time to go home boys”… So we walked in the other direction back to our vehicles… and made it home :-)

Unfortunately I forgot my camera :-( But Amy and Gregg took some pic’s from their camera phone and sent them to me… Thank-You!

Me and my boys :-)
